Terms and Conditions
I am Karen Lilley, trading as Lilley Glass Designs (“we” “us” “our” etc). These are my Terms and Conditions: please read them carefully.
Pictures and Descriptions
We try to describe the product (be it a vase, vessel, paperweight, beads or items of jewellery etc) as accurately as possible, including pictures and measurements. We don’t want you to be unhappy with anything you buy from us, and we want you to know exactly what you are getting. If you would like more details before buying an item then please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be glad to help if we can. Please note that some pictures may be larger than the actual size of the item – this is so we can show you the small details within the piece. If this is the case there will always be measurements, to make sure you understand the actual size.
The products sold by Lilley Glass Designs are ‘one of a kind’, and so identical items cannot be ordered. However, if there is a specific item you wish to order more of, then it may be possible to make similar pieces. Please email us if this is the case and we’ll do our best to help.
All the items on this website are priced in British Pounds. At present the goods are only available for posting to addresses in the UK.
Lilley Glass Designs accepts payments using PayPal. When you go to the Checkout page it will automatically take you to PayPal secure payments page. If you do not already have an account with PayPal then you may need to register. This doesn’t take long and it is very easy, all you will need is a credit card or bank account.
Please do not attempt to send cash payments by post! Sadly, your money is unlikely to arrive and we will both lose out.
Sending Out Your Order
We will send out your order as soon as possible after payment is received (i.e. through PayPal), provided the post office is open (and if not open, as soon as possible once it is open). The exact postage date will depend on when you place the order (e.g. what time of day) and on the workings of the PayPal or banking systems, which are beyond our control.
We use Royal Mail Special Delivery services to send your glass as this offers insurance and is a signed for, next (working) day delivery. The cost of delivery will be stated with the description of the goods, so you will pay for this at the same time as paying for the item ordered. As with payment systems, we do not have any control over the postal system so, other than using the Special Delivery service, packing your order appropriately, and ensuring the address is the one you have given us, we have no responsibility for the package once it is in the postal system.
However, if something goes wrong (for instance, if the item is damaged, lost or stolen in transit to you), we will do our reasonable best to help you (for instance, with a claim on the insurance, or by offering you a repair on appropriate terms).
Different Delivery and Invoice Addresses
If you need the goods sent to another address, please put this in the PayPal box that asks for your address, making clear which address is the delivery address, and which one the invoice should be sent to. Alternatively, please email us and give all the details and we will be happy to arrange this for you. If the item is for a gift, please also include this information, so we can make sure the packaging is appropriate.
If you are unhappy with any item I offer a 14 day refund guarantee. I will refund you on the original price of the item, but not including the shipping costs. The item needs to be returned in perfect condition (and if jewellery then unworn) to be eligible for refund – in this respect, we have to assume that the condition in which it arrives back with us is the condition in which you sent it, so please pack it carefully and take photos before you send, if there is any doubt about the condition. You should also consider using an insured service (such as Royal Mail Special Delivery).
Lilley Glass Designs does not give full refunds on earrings. This is for reasons of hygiene. However, if the earring is faulty, then I do offer a full refund.
If goods are returned because they were faulty when posted to you, then a full refund including shipping costs will be given.
If we are unable to complete your order because of something you have done, or failed to do (such as supplying incomplete information), we reserve the right to deduct any PayPal or bank charges from your payment before refunding.
Payments & Ownership of Goods
All items will remain the property of Lilley Glass Designs until cleared funds have been received. However, even when you ‘own’ one of our items, please note that you do not own the copyright, design or any other intellectual property in something that we have invested our skill and time in creating. Please do not attempt to copy any aspect of our design, or to display images or sell on our items without clearly acknowledging Lilley Glass Designs. If in any doubt, please contact us for clarification or permission to use our items!
Lilley Glass Designs reserve the right to cancel any order without cause or reason, and refund the cost.
And Finally …
We hope it is obvious that our beads and jewellery, vases, vessels and paperweights are not toys, and some could represent choking or other hazards to children or people who lack (or have lost) the ability to take appropriate care of themselves and others in relation to materials such as glass, metal and leather. Similarly glass vases, bowls, vessels, paperweights will break if dropped on a hard surface so care should be taken not to drop them, and if that should happen then care should be taken when picking up glass as it is sharp when broken. Our products are safe when used sensibly and handled carefully for the purposes for which they are designed and sold. Therefore, unless we have been negligent, we cannot be held responsible for death, injury or loss caused by our products.
