Description

An vibrant rectangular plate with stripes in red iridescent glass separated by beautiful transparent cobalt blue glass. The precision of the stripes has been set off by the cold-worked straight edges of the plate.  The extent to which the red iridescent glass is seen as transparent red with some iridescent or whether the iridescence sings more depends on the background the piece is set on, the darker the background the more dominant the iridescence. The background will also affect the darkness of the transparent blue. Both these effects can be seen in the second photograph of the plate. This piece would look lovely on a sideboard or table, equally it can also be used to serve snacks, biscuits, sweets or similar.

The plate is 27cm by 14cm and is 5cm deep from the base to the tip of the corners.

To care for this plate please do not use a knife or metal on it as over time that will scratch the surface as they would do any glass or glazed item.  It is not dishwasher proof,  handwashing is fine.  Similarly it is not oven or freezer proof, and obviously because it is glass care needs to be taken not to drop it!
