Description

A stunning gravity formed vessel, the outside of the vessel is matt and has crackle decoration with lime green islands islands and dark green veining around them.  The inside is glossy and lined with transparent green glass which darkens the decoration to give a lovely contrast with the outside of the piece. These vessels require multiple firings, firstly to achieve the decoration and then the final form is made by having the glass drop through a ring mold suspended in the kiln.  The exciting bit is trimming off the rim, after that the vessel is ground to give  a matt surfaced rim to the piece. The rim on this one is asymmetrical, with a gentle slope to it.

The vessel is 16.8cm in diameter across the rim and stands 11cm tall at the highest part.
