I have a collection of iridescent plates that have star patterns. They are based on traditional quilting blocks and require very accurate cutting. Here is one of them photographed on a white surface so the transparent colours shine out, and then the same plate on a black surface where you see the iridescence more, two quite different looks to the same plate.
